About
Political movement for the future of Syria
The “Common Space” is a national political movement born from Syrian civil society and officially launched in 2022 after years of dialogue and consultation. The movement was founded by a group of civil society actors who believed in the necessity of a free and safe space that brings together Syrians of all affiliations to work together to achieve shared national aspirations, free from polarization and division.

Vision and objectives
We, at the Common Space Initiative, seek to achieve a set of strategic objectives that constitute a roadmap for our work:
Establishing the initiative as a political platform that embraces a comprehensive national discourse.
Supporting political and economic stability in Syria, as a prerequisite for rebuilding the state and its institutions.
Coordinating efforts among various national forces at home and abroad, free from any ideological alignments or subordination to external axes.
Establishing a national political party that truly expresses the aspirations of Syrians to build a democratic future.
Strengthening partnerships with political and national forces and international actors involved in Syrian affairs, to ensure true representation of the will of the Syrian people.
Our position on the upcoming political map
Since its inception, the Common Space has not merely been a platform for dialogue. Rather, it has taken a clear stance rejecting the Assad regime, championing its overthrow as a fundamental step toward building a democratic Syria based on justice, citizenship, and dignity. With the fall of the regime, the initiative has evolved into a national actor seeking to directly participate in shaping Syria’s future. Today, the Common Space is crystallizing into an inclusive political framework encompassing a broad spectrum of Syrians seeking to build a democratic system. It is also working to form the nucleus for a national political party, while continuing its role as a space for coordination and interaction among various national forces and components.

Our corporate documents
The initiative’s founding statement was announced in September 2022, followed by the adoption of the General Charter and Bylaws, documents that regulate the relationship between members and define the initiative’s institutional framework.
